I have always been a storyteller. Having been a writer as a kid and a journalist by training, I headed out to Los Angeles soon after my college graduation.
I spent many years in Hollywood working in movies and television, helping to develop and produce films for Disney, New Line, Warner Bros, Universal, Lionsgate, Fox/New Regency, IFC Films and Focus Features, as well as television shows for the WB Network. I co-produced the indie feature "Girl Flu," which stars Katee Sackhoff and Jeremy Sisto.
Over the years I have learned that it really does all come down to the story you are trying to tell - and figuring out the best way to tell it.
As one of the Founders of the Allegory Media Foundation, I was (and continue to be) inspired to use my entertainment industry experience for good and to help make positive change in the world through media.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina and studied Financial Planning at UCLA. I was selected as a fellow by the New Leaders Council, an organization with a mission to train the next generation of progressive change-makers in America.
I was the founder and CEO of the successful retail gift site WayEasyGifts.com - it was a great learning experience, but I honestly found that I just did not love retail and wanted to get back to my real passion - storytelling.
I am a breast cancer survivor and do my best to appreciate each day and live it to the fullest. I grew up in Chapel Hill, NC and now live in Redondo Beach, CA with my husband, two children, two dogs and one cat.
